Spirulina
Spirulina is an easily digestible and highly nutritive micro-algae. Spirulina is an excellent source of protein, chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It is also a great source of B12.
Vitamin B12 is responsible for the formation of red blood cells and the proper function of the central nervous system. It also has been shown to help inhibit the formation of cancer cells, when combined with vitamin C.
Spirulina is easy to digest and is popular with “dieters” because of its ability to suppress one’s appetite and sugar cravings.
Spirulina is available in tablet, capsule, and powder form. Powder or pure capsule forms are far better than tablets, which contain various filler ingredients to help form the tablet.
Research shows that spirulina’s gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content is highest after evening primrose oil. GLA helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. It also helps improve mood and aids in weight loss.
Spirulina may be enjoyed in various ways. It may be added to soups, salads, and many other raw food dishes. It can also be enjoyed as part of a green juice or a smoothie.
