Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are approximately 30% protein and a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. They are also a great source of zinc and a good source of vitamin A, vitamin B1, B2, B3, and calcium.
Pumpkin seeds can be helpful in expelling parasites and are a great in nourishing the prostate because of their levels of zinc.
You can buy pumpkin seeds pre-packaged or from the bulk section of your local natural foods market. Pumpkin seeds may go rancid if left out at room temperature for too long, so store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last this way for 2 to 3 months.
Pumpkin seeds are great as a snack, seasoned with sea salt, in salads, and smoothies, just to name a few ideas.
